About Tallokin
Tallokin is for people who run service businesses: consultancies, agencies, studios and one-person practices. The work comes in, the team is busy, and yet the account is often thinner than it should be. We write about why that happens and what to do about it.
What we write about
Which clients and services actually make money. Why a busy firm can still run short of cash. How to price when costs go up. How to invoice and get paid on time, including receiving foreign currency. And, when it helps, honest comparisons of the tools that do some of this work for you.
Every article starts from a real situation we have seen, with names and figures changed. We check prices and product facts against current sources, and we date them, because they change.
Who writes it
Tallokin is written by a small team with a background in capital markets, engineering and running service businesses, based in Lagos, Nigeria. Our readers are first in Nigeria and across Africa, but the problems are the same wherever a business sells its time.
Our connection to ProfitMind
The Tallokin team builds ProfitMind, software that reads a business's bank statement and shows profit by client and service. When an article mentions ProfitMind, we say so at the top. We also recommend other tools where they are the better fit, and some of those links earn us a commission. Here is how that works.
